Position: Senior Estimator
Main Projects / works:
· Fort Hills Oil Sands Project – Silo U&O - Flare Pipe Rack This CAD 170 million project includes a new HP and a new LP flare system, pumps, pressure vessels, shell & tube exchangers, and pipe rack, as well as associated site work, civil and concrete work, structural steel, interconnecting piping, electrical, instrumentation, insulation and painting works.
· Mackey River Expansion (MRX) / MR1 Project MRX is a 42,000 BPSD SAGD Plant consisting of 4 well pads / gathering lines (a total 47 well pairs), Central Processing Facility (CPF), and Integration with existing MR1, total installation cost approximately amounts to one billion. The major equipment includes tanks, pressure vessels, pumps, exchangers, fired heaters, emergency generators, package boiler, and material handling equipment such as flare stack, evaporator package, zero liquid discharge (ZLD) package and etc.
· Petro-Canada Estimating Reference Book – pricing and benchmarking Monitoring and comparing costs and overall experiences from past projects and applying them to new proposals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
¨Pre-estimating Activities:
· Review design documents and drawings.
· Work with multiple engineering disciplines and other functional groups to develop accurate MTOs.
· Coordinate the activities and input of professionals from other functional disciplines.
· Set the estimating schedule to meet project progress schedule
¨Estimating Activities
· Prepare multi-discipline Class III estimate independently, covering direct field costs (material and construction labour costs), indirect costs (temporary facilities; construction equipment, tools and supplies; construction services; construction management; camp and transportation), engineering costs, owners costs, and possible contingency
· Update estimates as required reflecting changes in project scope and conditions.
· Develop multi-discipline trend and field change estimates.
· Review and condition contractor prepared estimates.
· Provide strong estimating assistance to project business/cost control manager for example, cost breakdown based on existing estimate documents
¨Post-estimating Activities
· Produce and compile a variety of estimating documents and reports.
· Prepare and present proposals/estimates with peers, the management team for review and approval
· Ensure timely delivery of data and estimates as required.
· Conduct cost analysis at completion of project.

· Assist project controls in progress and performance analysis when required

The main process equipment includes pressure vessels (dehydrator, desalter, HP/LP/intermediate production trap, the water/oil separator, knock out drums), pumps (Injection pumps, water/oil separator pumps), exchangers, air coolers, compressors, flare stacks, and other package equipment (chemicals package, water treatment package). Especially, many of them are very heavy equipment
