Projects include, but are not limited to, the moving of over 350+ users from our airport office and downtown office to the Western Select Properties, Novell installation and connectivity to IDEM’s Northwest Office, installation of over 450+ PCs and moving toward Novell client/server environment with PCs using the 10BaseT running NDIS/ODI drivers and using IPX & TCP/IP protocols, segmentation and balancing of Cabletron Hubs consisting of TPMIM and CSMIM cards, and improvement of the network throughput with the conversion from 10MB fiber to 100MB fiber connections in wiring closets and computer room.

• Supervise a technical support staff of eleven.

Position: Agency Systems Administrator/Systems Analyst III - March 1994 to February 1995

• Responsible for all connectivity on IDEM’s network with a user community of 800+ users. Migrating from an ASCII terminal environment to client/server with the installation of over 500+ PCs, conversion of all asynchronous Dickens Data Systems and SynOptics communications media to the campus standard of Cabletron.

• Initiated work on setting up and running NFS on several IBM RS/6000s to a user base of 50 to 60 clients, installation of 7 RS/6000 model 570s for use as Informix database servers, and finished the move of the entire Agency to the Indiana Government Center North from three remote locations.

Position: Systems Administrator/Senior Programmer IV – July 1992 to March 1994

• Duties included connectivity of IDEM’s network with a user community of 600 users. Responsible for Wang VS100, VS85, and VS65 systems, which include connectivity to US EPA’s mainframe, the State of Indiana’s mainframe, and communications between the systems, backing up and configuration of systems.

• Worked on the installation and expansion of IDEM’s open systems environment with three IBM RS/6000 model 530s to provide service for 150 ASCII terminal devices and 25 serial printers.

• Installed and configured four IBM RS/6000s to provide services in the areas of training, SNA connectivity, dBase IV development, and a “tear down” system. Worked on the connectivity to two remote sites from the primary facility.

• Began work on the move to the Indiana Government Center North location.

Position: Programmer V - January 1989 to July 1992

• Assisted in the development and implementation of AETP (Auto Emissions Testing Program) which consists of 1.5 million records of automobile emissions tests for the two northern and two southern counties. This program was developed in Wang’s PACE database development environment on a VS85.
