Project Experience

Project Engineer – Banking and Financial Services

Project : RKYC (Client Master and COT)

Client : Investment Bank in Europe

Role : DBA, Data Modeler, Oracle Developer

Duration : Jul’ 08 – Aug’ 09

Environment : Windows, Unix

Description:

A “Golden Source” of client data, Client Master, needs to be in place to consolidate client data across existing applications and enable a master of client data for the investment bank.

Currently, client data are scattered across various systems such as Account Workflow (AW), Master files (MF) and Client On boarding Tool (COT). This causes inefficiencies in the business processes for On boarding, Client Review, Prime Services Transition Management, Compliance and other logistic functions.

The single “Golden Source” will remove business process inefficiencies, consolidate business processes, allow a single view of the client, provide transparency across different functions and centralize reporting.

In 2009, Client Master is envisaged to achieve this and it will:

• Provide a single view of client data in a centralized repository

• Provide transparency of client data across different functions

• Consolidate client data across existing client systems

• Source external data on client/entity data

• Integrate with the current client data workflow tool, COT to streamline business processes

• Integrate with MF to ensure client data is referenced correctly for the account and downstream systems

• Integrate with AW to provide KYC entitlement information for account requests (out of scope for Client Master 1.0)

• Decommission part of the functionalities in other client data systems to enable better control of client data (e.g. KYC data in AW, CE maintenance in MF)

• Provide reporting functionalities for management reporting and support business processes (e.g. client review)
