YELL AD WORKS INC., King of Prussia, PA 2005 to 2009

Quality Assurance Analyst

Performed regression, new functionality, cluster, data comparison, and smoke testing of customer’s new media products in conjunction with our offshore team and enabled flushing out critical bugs in application which resulted in better end-user experience of the product. Served as point person in resolving requirement and test cases issues arising from our shore team and providing clarifications which resulted in reducing number of invalid defect s logged.

* Evaluated various tools currently in market for performance testing and used Web Performance in load testing one of our web servers hosted in remote location and got a buy-in to acquire the license.

* Responsible for the year end test case scrub project which I completed single handedly in scrubbing out redundant test cases, updating those which required modification due to change in requirements and also identified those test cases which could be automated. This exercise resulted in scrubbing 400 test cases and saving enormous amount of time for client in managing their test cases.

* Business Wide End-User Reporting, COGNOS (BA & QA)

> Gathered, negotiated, and defined requirements by working with operations and the development team in transitioning all legacy reports on to COGNOS business model. During transition process served as liaison for operations in generating any adhoc or interim reports in COGNOS query studio for addressing all reporting needs during transition.

Quality Assurance lead responsible for making sure those end-user acceptance criteria was met and any data gaps were flushed out during testing. High visibility project and received lot of kudos for successfully completing project on time.

* Global Performance Measurement System, Project Manager

> Project managed deployment of our performance measurement system to our offshore sites in India. This was a high visibility project since 80% of our production was from our offshore studio and it satisfied all end-user productivity and reporting needs of 700 users and also aligned our entire studio end-users spread across globe (US/UK &India) on single performance measurement platform. Responsible for having ‘train the trainers’ sessions so that the knowledge of new system is transferred to end user.

* Business Process Re-Engineering / Modeling

> Formulated model of single pass-scanning workflow process in order to determine various metrics to decide on optimum number of resources which need to be allocated for workflow cell. This was high visibility project in that this was the first time a process-modeling tool was used to determine capacity metrics. Accomplishments in this project resulted in using this tool to model and analyze capacity and queuing constraints on file transfer severs used by our infrastructure team.

INTEL CORPORATION, Santa Clara, CA 2004 to 2005

Test Engineer, Pre-silicon Testing and Validation

Supported all testing activities which involved executing regression, stress, and high performance computing tests on Itanium family of processors on different O/S platforms. Process involved setting up system with appropriate O/S, performing test as per plan and capturing any errors or malfunction.

* Experimented with open source 32 and 64-bit software on IA64 Linux and Windows workstations and writing test cases in PERL and UNIX to run 32-bit software on 64-bit platforms.

* Set up infrastructure for end user usage models and executed on Itanium Windows and Linux server platforms. Involved in various support activities as part of test lab in setting up systems, network, and other software components.

UTAH STATE UNIVERSITY, Logan, UT 2002 to 2003

Programmer Research Assistant, Department of Natural Resources

Researched academic journals on various algorithms related to calibration adjustment of NOAA AVHRR (Advance very high-resolution radiometer) sensor for NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) without recourse to individual channel data.

* Calibrated NOAA data for specific region for years 1990-1999 using an algorithm by S.O.Los (Intl. Journal of Remote sensing 1993) implemented using MATLAB. This involved good amount of data mining and data conversion to make it compatible for reading using MATLAB which resulted in removing all sensor degradation from data and asserting state of vegetation in region data was collected.
