Symantec (May 2009 – Current)

Position: Software Quality Assurance Analyst

Working with Symantec Corporation for Yoh IT Services. I am responsible for running “Automated Systems” and executing general black box testing. I am currently working on performing Regression, Build Acceptance and Automation on the 64-bit Linux Router for Huasai project. Responsibilities include writing and maintaining test plans, processing defect reports, and black box testing. Define, document, verify, and execute test cases including functional and regression testing. Also suggest, implement, and evaluate approaches to testing strategies in the test environments.

Qualcomm Incorporated (May 2008 – May 2009)

Position: IT Systems and QA Analyst Intern

Developed an application FADB for the IT team in JSP and MySQL and was part of the testing team for the same. The application was developed using Agile Methodology. My role is to develop scripts for automated testing of protocol features and will be helping out in test execution. We as a team implement SQA methodologies. I am involved in writing automation scripts in VB java and Perl. I have worked on both Black box and White box Testing and performing load, functional (QTP), regression and performance (Load Runner) testing on several applications. Working on different projects for Teams and trying to implement best practices to produce a Quality Software. I also maintain the Lab for the building involved in Configurations and Installations for the machines.

PROJECTS

Pace Weights:

Developed Horse Racing Software for Professor Rafford Boddy of San Diego State University. The User would import the BRIS file into the software and enter the Beyer value for the Upcoming Race. The Software would calculate the probability of the Horse winning the Race based on the inputs giving by the user.

Inventory Management System

Developed a 3-Tier application for automating the Inventory Management System. Implemented the Software on Client, Business Logic and Server. The Client side had the client side verifications, Business Logic had classes which implemented our project and the server had the database.

Railway Reservation System:

Developed a Railway Reservation System which implemented the Reservation, Cancellation, Train Master updates, search and reporting modules. The system also included multiple reservations (Database Locking).

Banking solution (C, file handling)

Developed as a prototype for bank system. It does all the transactions needed for the bank. In this project C/ C++ was used as a development language. This project is developed using all the concepts of object oriented programming.

Client Server System:

Designed a Client Server System which could do message passing and chat facility. The system was similar to yahoo messenger and had almost all the functionality required.

LAN Chatting application with Mobile Communication (Using VC++)

The application facilitates communication between computer and mobile devices. Also useful for sending the file and text messages between computers on the network.

Voice Recognition System in VB.NET

Developed a Help-System with Voice Recognition in VB.Net for Math Class school kids.

Online Audio Video Library:

Module about selling and purchasing of cd’s online. It was a small module implementing important functionalities.
