Small Arms Technician

As Small Arms Technician at a Direct Support Maintenance/Field Maintenance Facility, my duties and responsibilities included the Inspecting, troubleshooting, repair, gauging, application of MWO fs and testing of small arms. Weapon systems include the M9 pistol series, M4 carbine series, M16 rifle series, M2/ M48 machine guns, M2 crow system, M203 grenade launcher series, M249 machine gun, M240 machine gun series, M14 rifle, M24 sniper weapon system, M11 compact, MK 19 grenade launcher, mortar systems and towed artillery. Responsible for receiving, maintaining an organize bench stock and shop stock of over 700 items including sensitive items. Full knowledge of maintenance work forms and Army Regulations. As small Arms Inspector (Acting NCO) support level (DS, 30 Level) I performe inspections,maintenance to include all gauging, function checks and repair or replacement of parts on all equipment that enters the shop for repair. Ensure equipment received is in accordance with applicable technical manuals and publications as well as interface with DS and Army Field Support Battalions to schedule requested in progress and final inspections. Direct support on all track vehicles by troubleshooting, maintain and repair all hydraulics,air supply, electronics and fire control systems IAW relevant technical manuals. Vehicle experience on M1, M1A1, M1A2 main battle tanks, Bradley infantry carrier series,M113 series, M106 Paladin self-propel artillery. Supervised lower grade soldiers and provide technical guidance to the soldiers so they may accomplish their duties. Repair turret mechanisms , engeines and tank weapons systems. Troubleshoot with the use of schematics and correct malfunctions. As 45k I was responsible to maintain a high standard in all 45 series MOS at the armament shop. Ensure the safety of all soldiers. Train soldiers in their MOS every week. Keep an inventory of bench stock , shop stock and sensitive items. Keep record of all repairs, storage weapons and arms room log books. Repair track vehicle using battle assessment. Ordering , receiving, inventory and distribution of equipment. Expert on working with hazardous material.
