Project: DRPr (Distribution Requirements planning & Procurement)

Role: Process Team.

Project Description: Caterpillar has a goal of creating the premier, integrated logistics software product to use internally & marketable worldwide. It combines the development and marketing strength of SAP with the ‘best in class’ business process and logistics expertise of Cat Logistics. This solution will be applicable global distribution network. These impacts will be primarily through the implementation of software system and related business practices that provide world-class levels of lower cost service and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities/Deliverable: Scope of work includes the following:

Developing the functional specification to address the gaps found during blueprint activities with header level Technical and unit test information.

Involved in Functional requirements finalization and testing the functional requirements during the realization.

Involved in Regression testing for the preparation and execution of test scripts and cases for the DRPr project in the upgrade of SCM 7.0.

Supporting SAP SWD team in resolving the issues both technically and functionally.

One of the shift leads for the cutover activities and for the stabilization of the project.

Actively participated in all levels of design reviews, Functional requirements design and developments hand-offs.

Prepared and executed the test scripts and cases as part of the Integration and UAT testing for the DRPr project.

Project: DFIP (Demand Forecast and Inventory Planning)

Role: ABAP Technical

Project Description: The DFIP functionality is an enabler to CDS to better serve its customers with the lowest possible cost within the supply chain. It represents both the first Global SPM implementation and will be the first SPM implementation to retire Legacy objects/processes. DFIP functionality has global impact but it mainly affects materials management processes and its employees. The demand forecasting functionality concentrates on forecasting elements, analyzing historical demand to predict future demand for a part. Inventory planning functionality determines what parts to keep in which locations and how many to keep on-hand to provide the desired service to the dealers.

Caterpillar Logistics Inc (Feb ’07 – Jan ‘08)

Project: St.Paul

Role: ABAP Technical

Project Description: In May 2006, St. Paul was chosen as the pilot facility for the first SPM implementation. The facility performs a diversity of functions such as cross-docking and exports in addition to daily warehouse functions.

Responsibilities/Deliverable: Scope of work includes the following:

Developed technical specifications as per Functional Requirement Document.

Prepared Unit Test Documents.

Worked on Reports, Module pool programming, BAPIs, ALE/IDOC and Enhancement Framework.

Actively participated in Technical Specifications & Code reviews.

Supported on Unit string, Regression, FRD testing, Go-Live and stabilization support issues with a turn around time of 24 hrs.
