Performed the following duties under the close supervision of a Pharmacist:

• receive and dispense prescriptions for patients

• read prescriptions to determine the drug prescribed , its dosage and assures it is within normal parameters for the type of medication

• review patient pharmaceutical records to determine if the prescription is contraindicated by the patient's history or use of other medications

• advise physicians of incompatible prescriptions, overdoses or other problems based on knowledge of the drugs prescribed, patient's history and recommend to physicians other drugs in place of those prescribed

• establish inventory levels, assure that minimum levels of inventory are maintained, and reorder pharmaceuticals required to maintain sufficient supplies

• counsel patients on prescription medications, respond to patients' needs and expectations

• counseling and recommendation of over the counter medications /products to patients/customers
