Goal of Project: Farm Bureau Limited (FBL) has a large number Producers (Agents) who bring business to FBL by selling the policies of their Marketing and Underwriting companies. These Producers receive Commissions based on various different parameters and business rules. In the current world, FBL has a Mainframe based system called AGTI (Agent Interface), developed in COBOL and VSAM, which takes care of the Commissions calculation. This AGTI system is a legacy system with lot of issues related to maintenance and scalability. The commission cycles are executed in a 5 day Month end process and there are many problems faced by the business users in the current system.

PIC initiative is a Java based solution for the overall maintenance of Producer and Commissions data and eventually phase-out the current AGTI system.

Responsibilities:

Analyzed functional and technical requirements and prepared deliverables including Software Requirement Specifications, User Interface Specifications, screen mock-ups, and report mock-ups

Requirement gathering from the users and business about what they want to achieve through this universe

They were having the requirement of powerful tool that can manage the online reports and batch job processing/ reporting I.e. BRS (BOOKSCAPE Reporting System).

It takes care of submission, scheduling and tracking of reports and batch processes. It enables authorized user to easily select and run reports/ batch process, and check the status of reports and batch process jobs instantly. The Reporting System supports multiple report execution simultaneously; thereby providing ultimate flexibility with all reports deployed at centralized location i.e. Business Objects.
