Senior Programmer Analyst/ Solutions Architect

Worked on a project that involved converting College Applications from HP3000 COBOL to .Net and AcuCobol. My role was to research performance differences between applications on the two platforms and identifying causes of these differences using available tools. Also researched technology issues like making .Net interact with AcuCobol using MS Com Server and prototyped a simple application to demonstrate this. Provided help and expertise with HP3000 related issues.

Functional Job Description: I particated in enhancement, development and support of DC (Defined Contribution) Retirement Plan software for various external clients of the employer , running on HP3000 platform using standard and third-party tools. Served as the sole support for DC application, which provides backbone for various web and custom online interfaces.

Scope of Work:

• Completed dozens of work-requests and help-desk tickets to enhance and fix background programs;

Scope of Work: Provided support for Student Information System for the Marketing and Student Services departments. The support took the form of providing statistics about the student population, subject to criteria established by the Marketing department for recruitment campaigns.Developed system for printing customized labels and registration forms.Also created ability to generate reports for follow-up phone-calls for Student Services department to recruit students for pending courses. Additionally, worked on ad-hoc work-order requests from these and other users (e.g.: new 1098-T Tax forms).

Client: MICROWAREHOUSE (Online retailer of PC products)

Scope of Work: Analyzed and fixed interfaces between various Order fulfillment applications and the materials management software (MM/3000). Migrated OF reports from the old 2680 printer to F100 and provided support for Perigee, an in-house application that allows CSRs to take customer orders in real-time and have them shipped the same day. The Perigee program interfaces with various other applications like SHIP and MM/3000 to achieve this.

Scope of Work: Programmed enhancements, fixes, and custom reports into MORRIS applications per user requests. This application keeps track of information regarding consultants working with various customers throughout USA. The information is uploaded from various CDI regional offices in electronic format. MORRIS is the application that loads this information into the image databases at the MIS department.

Provided occasional support for purchasing (PROMIS) and site-maintenance (HPMAINT) and programming help on a finance consolidation project.Acted as an HP3000 guide for analysts relatively new to HP3000.

Some of the applications thus changed are Inter-company Invoicing, Payroll and General Ledger etc. The tasks performed include analyzing, redesigning, coding, testing and implementing the systems.

Scope of Work: The project involved transferring PO processing, Receipts processing as also tracking stock activity, from M&D on IBM to MMS on HP3000. Designed and developed programs to do one-time conversion, as well as to transfer information on a daily basis between IBM and HP. Also did analysis and design of GENERAL LEDGER feed programs that converted MTD stock activity to financial transactions. Designed and developed several reports for the users.
