• Monitored and enforced/encouraged the safety performance of 15 contractors, their safety personnel and 200+ employees on Barrick Gold’s Cortez Hills Project.

• Insured compliance with MSHA, OSHA and individual mine safety regulations.

• Worked with state and federal officials (MSHA), and client safety personnel to achieve mutually satisfactory resolutions to perceived issues.

• Developed and taught mandatory Fall Protection program for all company employees

• Wrote or edited Safety Manuals, Training Programs and Loss Control Programs for several companies. Established SOPs for Working at Heights, Energy Source Lockout, other intrinsically risky tasks.

• Investigated incidents, and filed all necessary paperwork with MSHA, state of Nevada and insurance company.

• Developed “Random Rewards” program to encourage employee buy-in for both safety and work quality improvements.

• Instituted plan to reduce company’s reportable injury rate. Maintained a 66 percent reduction for 3 years before leaving post.
