I am a Licensed Practical Nurse and Certified Hyperbaric Technician. My current duties as a hyperbaric nurse include patient monitoring such as vital signs and blood sugars (CBG) and documenting on the appropriate forms . Obtaining consents for treatment, Initiate, organize and manage the patients medical records and all required forms. Orientate the patients to Hyperbarics and offer instructions dealing pressure changes and equalization techniques. I operate the hyperbaric chambers and monitor the patients during their oxygen treatments. Monitoring them closely for problems such as oxygen toxicity/barotrauma/claustrophobia. I assist physicians with patient evaluations. I also do wound care as ordered by physicians including basic wound assessments, measurements and debridements. I administer medications per physician orders when necessary. I am certified in Transcutaneous monitoring including equipment set-up/ calibration/patient preparation, testing and documentation. I am also required to be on call 24hrs a day every other week including the weekend. I am experienced with contacting physicians/pharmacies and taking verbal orders. I am a people person and interact well with my co-workers. I enjoy my patients and strive to make them as comfortable as possible.
