Global leader in full-service engineering, procurement, construction, management, and operations.
Senior Superintendent - Hawaii Department of Education, State of Hawaii (2006 - 2011)
Multi-million dollar projects including cesspool conversion, wastewater pump stations, excavation of contaminated soil, restoration initiatives and underground soil conditions on government and public school property.
Managed, coordinated and directed two phase project - the first consisting of gathering and reviewing available information, and the second which entailed converting and/or replacing 262 of the estimated 320 large capacity cesspools, at 49 school sites, located throughout the five islands. Conducted field investigations and obtained information regarding conditions of each cesspool by means of Ground Penetrating Radar, one-inch sewer line camera, and utility locating equipment. Identified site hazards, limitations, and electrical panel locations for schools requiring wastewater pump stations. Regarding failing cesspools, oversaw collection of soil samples and performance of ground perc testing to determine size of leach field. Prepared design documents and submitted permit applications. Conducted meetings pre- and during construction with school officials, staff, and subcontractors, and performed final walk through. Scheduled and coordinated delivery of septic tanks to subcontractors. Supervised crews on multiple islands and coordinated subcontractors working concurrently in different municipalities. Completed daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork; updated construction schedules; forecasted weekly work goals for each site; and communicated with Project Manager daily regarding concerns, changes, or additions to weekly meeting agendas. Ensured adherence to all OSHA and corporate safety regulations, successfully addressed significant challenges, and implemented innovative dewatering techniques.
Senior Superintendent - Army Corp of Engineers, Fort Bliss, Texas (2005 - 2006)
Two projects totaling $10M with a six-month deadline. First Project consisted of a 1 MG above ground reservoir, booster station, surge tank and associated electrical, 1.7 MGD Sanitary Sewer Lift Station and associated electrical, approximately 1200 lf of water main and approximately 8800 lf of force main. Second project consisted of complete installation of all water, sanitary sewer and storm drainage lines (total of approximately 108,000 lf of PVC, RCP, DIP and copper) for a new 4000 troop barracks and training facility for the Corp. of Engineers.
Interfaced with Project Manager and Project Engineer to forecast and develop tri-week schedules to meet completion date.
