Objective:
I am seeking a challenging career with a corporation that can utilize my credentials and
experience that I have gained over the past 20 years.Over the years have used all kinds
of basic to sophisticated software tools to automate all areas of DASD, catalog and system
maintenance, including the preparation for disaster recovery. Left all systems more automated
than when first arrived. Have a very unique skill in that I can do a lot of things by memory
without the use of a manual and have an extensive auditory memory. My main areas of expertise
are Dasd management, DFDSS, DFHSM, DFSMS and catalog management. Willing to relocate anywhere

Working as contractor at Ford Motor Company Credit Corporation. Mainly responsible for the
catalogs. Software includes CRPLUS, HSM Fast Audit, Dfhsm, Dfsms, CA1, Mainview, Although only
there a short time have written several SAS programs. Reorg of catalogs as catalog index ci size
is too small. Participated in disaster recovery exercise. HSM cleanup with HSM Fast Audit.Left contract ended.
03/10 - 04/11: Mainframe Storage Contractor, SAI People Inc, Dubuque, Iowa
Working as a contractor at IBM GDF center Dubuque Iowa. Supporting such major accounts as
Disney, American Express, Hertz, Amtrak, Bristol Meyer Squibb, Honeywell, Quest Diagnostics,
Michelin, ACE Insurance, Morgan Stanley, Navistar, Campbells Soup, and many more. Disaster
Recovery, Dfhsm, Dfsms, Dfdss, Dfrmm, CA1, TLMS, SAS,etc. Major accomplishments were
increasing size of Dfhsm control datasets, extending volser range of TLMS and wrote many SAS
programs. Left job offer with benefits.
04/06 - 09/09: Enterprise Storage Contractor, CIBER Inc, Bloomington, Illinois.
Working as a contractor for CIBER at State Farm Insurance Corporate Office.
Conversion of Catalog Solutions to TREX, removal of IMBED and REPLICATE from the catalogs,
designing catalog backup methodology using TREX. Catalog support for over 100 lpars.
Built catalog environments on approximately 30 new lpars. Wrote numerous SAS programs to
support the catalog environment. Taught TREX classes. Catalog Reorgs, Catalog maintenance.
Left contract ended due to budgetary reasons.
11/98 - 04/06: Senior Systems Programmer, Crowley Maritime Corp., Jacksonville, Florida
Dasd Management, DFHSM, DFSMS, DFDSS, ICKDSF, Dasd tuning, standards and procedures.
Redesigned Disaster Recovery Plan and backups as the existing one had never worked.
My redesign was a success. Devloped JCL generator through SAS to automate backups,
restores and inits for disaster recovery. MXG reporting. Power point charts from MXG for
management.Catalog Solutions to Catalog Recovery Plus conversion. Wrote various SAS code
Split out the 1 user catalog to 9 catalogs to prevent single point of failure.
Revamped DFSMS to come up with more meaninful class names.Moved mainframe from Jacksonville
Florida to Omaha Nebraska. Left mainframe outsourced.
08/92 - 09/98: Software Engineer Contractor, COMSYS Inc., Tallahassee, Florida.
Working as a contractor at Department of children and families, State of Florida
Dasd management, DFHSM, DFSMS, DFDSS, ICKDSF, Dasd tuning,standards and procedures,
and Disaster Recovery. Converted Data Center to DFSMS. Business case to appropriate SAS.
Wrote various SAS code. Bench marked Optical Disk. Left contract ended.
05/92 - 08/92 : Systems Analyst Contractor, Sykes Enterprises Inc., Tampa Florida
Worked as a contractor for SEI at GTEDS designing, coding and supporting ISPF Dialogs
for automated balancing system. Left contract ended and had another offer.
10/85 - 04/92: Senior Systems Computer Designer, Martin Marietta, Orlando Florida
Installed and supported various program products; Research and analyze System dumps
through IPCS. Researched and installed PTFS thru IBMLINK and SMP/E; Part of the
Disaster Recovery team; Converted non IBM products to SMP Format using SMPGEN feature
of PDSE(Startool); Wrote WYLBER – HSM interface. Wrote various code in ASSEMBLER, COBOL and SAS
to do various functions. Left company downsized.
06/81 - 10/85: Systems Programmer, AT&T Information Systems, Orlando Florida
Installed and supported products while member of the 3rd party software group.
Transferred to regional support, installing system PTFS and working everyday problems.
Transferred to Data Management and became HSM administrator supporting HSM on 38 systems
spanning 5 data centers. Before IBM had ML2 support, developed archival ML1 system using
SAS and DMS. Taught DFHSM basics class to operations of the 5 data centers Wrote SAS
code to do various functions. Left fear of layoffs and had an offer from a more stable
environment.
