VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE
The Nuccio family started an annual fundraising effort in the name of our father, Salvatore J. Nuccio, who passed away from Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) in 2007. Each year, our committee organizes an event, which includes a brunch, silent auction and a raffle, to help raise money and more importantly, awareness of IPF. Our main goal is to continue education people about IPF. Our fundraising efforts have earned our father, Salvatore J. Nuccio, a MEMORIAL STATUS at the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, which means that 100% of the proceeds donated to the Foundation are used solely for research to find a cause and a cure for this disease. In 2 years our fundraisers have raised nearly $25,000 for the Foundation. We look forward to continued success as we plan our 2010 event.
On September 12th to the 15th 2007, my wife and I went to Juarez, Mexico with Mission Ministries to help their community by building them a kindergarten school. The school was 50 feet long and 25 feet wide which accommodated 15 or more children. Before going on this trip, we had to fund raise $2500. My wife and I rose over $3000, and the extra went to help the Mission Ministries’ headquarters in Juarez, which provide FREE health care to the people of Juarez.
