RESPONSIBlILITY

I am Consultant Project Quantity Surveyor reporting to the Client representative and Consultant’s Resident Engineer. My duties, among other duties include but not limited to;

• Quantity Calculation and Review of different construction activities.

• Reporting on progress costs and man-hours against budgets.

• Reviewing and certification of Contractor’s Interim Valuation.

• Reviewing, negotiation and certification of Contractor’s Claim and Variations.

• Measurement and Preparation of Payment Application to recommend for Client.

• Keeping records of all files, Design Drawing, material, plant and equipment submittal.

• Updating Progress of works and reporting accomplishment using Primavera Project Planner.

• Preparing weekly and Monthly Progress Report and submit it to the Client.

• General Monitoring of all Construction activities as stipulated in The Condition of Contact

• Representing the client for site visit for Tendering Purposes.

Working with the Ministry of work as project Quantity Surveyor (QS) for (Client) on a number of Projects for pre and post contract duties. Some of my responsibilities include but not limited to Taking off Quantities, Preparation of Bills of Quantities, Preparation of Tender Documents, Tender sum negotiation, Preparation of Interim Valuation, Claim Variation negotiation and final Accounts. Advice on budget setting and allocation, provide cost advice during various design and planning stages, monitoring design development against plan and expenditure, advise on procuring of construction services and many other off site duties. Some of the Projects handled include but not limited to:

Isa town gate Interchange – A road project that consist of highway road, flyover, underpass and drainage system ($ 108 million)

Construction of SH. Khalifa Bin Salman Highway and bridge Phase 5, Grade Separated interchanges 3 & 4 with extensive drainage system ($ 45.78 million).

Construction of SH. Khalifa Bin Salman Highway Phase 5, Zallaq Bridge and University Access Road ($ 22.548 million).

Construction of Bahrain City Center Interchange – Road works ($ 18.621 million).

Reef Island Access Bridge – Construction and completion of a 4-lane dual carriage way, cofferdam, 135m marine bridge and connecting 1-km of 6-lane dual carriage access road, Sewerage and drainage system ($ 15.374 million)

I worked as a Project Quantity Surveyor on Construction of Living Spring International Hotel at Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria. A Project that consist of a luxury hotel, a complete gulf field, Dam, road network among others ($50 million). I was employed as a residential project QS. I was fully engaged on site for taking physical measurement for contractor and nominated subcontractor for the purpose of interim payment, preparation of labour and material schedule, tender evaluation & report, contract documentation, Performing measurement & valuation of sub contractors' works, variation Claims among other duties and other contractual matters.

Dam Experience

I have some experience in construction of Dam in the above Project. The project also includes construction of Dam to provide constant supply of water to wet the gulf field at any time of the year. The Dam was constructed from about 20 m Wide River that pass through the site. We took the opportunity of this seasonal flowing river to construct the Dam to impound water for usage at all time for wetting the gulf field and for other irrigational purposes. The dam is about 15m height measured from the downstream toe to the crest and has impounding capacity of about 20,000 cubic metre of water.
