• Courses : Internal Combustion Engines, Combustion Processes, CFD, Hybrid Vehicles, Design Optimization, Vehicle Dynamics, Numerical Methods, Statistical Quality Control
• Developed a high fidelity engine model in GT Power and modeled and simulated a series hydraulic hybrid vehicle in Matlab - Simulink for the hybrid vehicles project and achieved a 50% improvement in fuel economy.
• Optimized the battery and motor sizes of a Segway human transporter with the objective of minimizing the weight using Matlab – Simulink
• Assisted Dr.Stani Bohac on a project on emission control techniques in two stroke diesel locomotive engines for Peaker Systems Inc.
May 2009 ANNA UNIVERSITY Chennai, India
• Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering (Cumulative: 85%)
• Received 50% tuition scholarships for 3 consecutive years for academic excellence
• Adjudged as the best student in sophomore year in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
Summer 2010 Mahindra & Mahindra Mahindra Research Valley, India
Summer Intern – Hybrid Vehicles
• Modeled and Simulated three completely new cooling system architectures for the hybrid variant of the next SUV to be launched.
• Optimized the coolant flow and radiator size for the three layouts with constraints on the control target temperatures of the coolant by using a derivative based optimization algorithm. Identified the cooling system architecture that minimized the parasitic power losses.
2008 - 2009 Ashok Leyland Limited: Project Intern Chennai, India
• Developed a conceptual design of a hydraulic valve actuation mechanism and analytically analyzed the possibility of combining the same with a piezoelectric actuator to result in a camless engine.
Software Applications
Matlab, Simulink, GT Power, Minitab, AutoCAD, C programming, MS Office
