Undergraduate Research Lab Assistant 08/2010 – 05/2012
• Assisted in live animal research with specific focuses in inflammation and Alzheimer’s disease, role of Eph receptors in behavior and neurogenesis, and exercise and neurogenesis
• Treated animals with Gleevec, an anti-cancer drug that has been shown to reduce the beta-amyloid plaques that form in Alzheimer’s Disease (AD), to determine if this drug therapy will work in our inflammation model
• Performed daily injections and behavior experiments on mice
• Recorded, analyzed and presented AD pathology findings at the TCU Senior Research Symposium and received 1st place in the Graduate Interdisciplinary Research category
