Volunteered on a job site after moving to north Texas and was offered a position at Habitat as Construction Manager. Within six months, appointed to Construction Director of New Homes. Instituted multiple changes and eliminated backlog in production schedule. Set-up of training for construction staff and core volunteers. Planning, directing and coordinating new home construction from start to move-in. Interfaced with development and volunteer departments. Selected, hired and supervised paid contractors. Supervised and monitored construction staff and volunteers on multiple job sites. Prepared budgets and construction schedules. Set-up of “build and move” blitz build in Sundance Square.

After working with a builder on my personal residence, started GB Custom Homes with a $25,000 family investment and became an independent residential builder completing spec and custom homes which ranged in price from $150,000 to $800,000. Build schedule ranged from three to seven houses per year. Acquired financing, land purchase and development; development of plans and specifications; acquiring building permits; SWPPP permitting, material take-offs, all construction and inspection and preparing for final closing and sales.
