Professional Experience

1. Ericsson India Pvt. Ltd. – Senior Engineer

January 2009 – Present

Project: Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system

This project involves development of DTMF based call routing application for mobile operators. Using Ericsson’s IVR, callers can access their account information with the mobile operators, recharge their accounts etc. This is a J2EE and Voice XML (VXML) based application where the User Interface is voice based. This project is one of the components of the Charging System portfolio offered by Ericsson.

I am currently working as a design and development member in the project for developing new features in the product. I am also the team coach and Scrum Master for my team of 6 people. I am also involved in development of any product customization requests coming from operators around the world. Major product customizations that I did were for Etisalat (UAE), Turkcell (Turkey), MTN (Uganda), and Telma (Madagascar).

Highlights:

• Single handedly developed a Java Swing based editor to modify the XML based call flow in the IVR, with a variety of features like hot-deployment, user authentication, session timeout etc.

• Conducted a 3 day training session on IVR for mobile operator, Etisalat in Dubai.

• Delivered a presentation to the strategy team at Ericsson on IVR for preparing the product roadmap.

2. Headstrong Services – Senior Associate

June 2007 – January 2009

Project: Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system for Nuance LLC

This project involved development of a generic voice based IVR application for the client. This is an intelligent IVR application which processes a huge set of data collected from call centers to analyze voice user inputs from the callers and rout them to the correct place. For Example, a caller may ask for his account balance in different number of ways, but the application is intelligent enough to correctly interpret the input. This is also a J2EE and VXML based IVR application.

In this project, I was working as a design and development member for developing new features as requested by the client.

3. Nagarro Software – Senior Software Engineer

August 2005 – June 2007

Project: Web Application for NuBridges LLC

This project involved development of a J2EE web application for a retail client for synchronizing items between suppliers and retailers. Using this application, the suppliers could register their items on an AS/400 system and retailers could access item details from there. This project also allowed retailers to create an approval workflow for the items they selected from the system.

My job involved development of different components in the web application, mainly Portlets to manage items through the approval workflow. In this project I gained good knowledge of Core Java, Servlets, JSP, EJB, JDBC, and Hibernate technologies.
