Regional Supply Chain Director (2012)

Managed regional supply chain for the Americas (Canada to Argentina).

Responsible for production in two plants, production scheduling, inventory

levels for raw materials and finished goods, and replenishment strategies

for 18 different stock points in 7 different countries. The exterior

coatings business has 4000 SKUs with variations of color and package size

increasing the complexity of order fulfillment. Conduct S&OP monthly

operational demand and supply planning to optimize chain. Currently manage

a supply chain organization of 7 direct reports and a total organization of

100+ individuals. Total 2012 budget for supply chain spend is $60 MM.

Flint Hills Resources, LP The Woodlands, TX

2010 - 2012

Polymers Logistics Manager (2010-2012)

Responsible for ocean, air, truck, less-than-truckload, hopper truck, and

rail shipments to service Polymer customer base. Manage department of five

individuals who tender shipments daily from 3 production facilities and

multiple distribution center locations. Logistics group coordinates over

1,000 shipments per month. Monitor and report key performance indices

including on-time in-full, freight spend by mode, non-optimal shipments,

and railcar expense. Manage a logistics spend of > $37 MM annually. Also

responsible for packaging operations.

2007 - 2010

Polymers Planning and Optimization Manager (2007-2010)

Responsible for coordination of production, sales, and inventories to

optimize profitability for Flint Hills Resources, a division of Koch

Industries, the largest privately-held company in the US. Coordinate

Demand Consensus and Sales and Operation Planning as well as Production

Scheduling for the Polymers businesses. Develop Monthly and Long-Range

planning. Conduct monthly "look back" process for evaluation of plan vs.

actual business performance. With engineering background, provide business

cases for various plant capital and business-related projects.

. Provided business case and oversaw implementation of $3 million capital

project in 2010 for improved railcar loading capability.

. Provided ERP system enhancement rationale for Oracle system implemented

in fall 2009. Difficulties with data extractions required for operating

Polymers Product Manager (2005-2007)

Managed six Production Schedulers who scheduled 21 reactor trains and

managed approximately 500 different product grades.

. Management included 3 plant sites with different polymer technologies at

each plant. Although majority of products shipped in railcars and

octagonal boxes (truckload and less-than-truckload), business packaged

and shipped 30 different package types. From supply chain side, built

cases for rationalization of both products and packages to more

effectively manage and control cost of production, inventory, packaging,

and shipping.

. Customer service levels were maintained at greater than 93% during tenure

with some very poor production outputs.

. Maintained inventory levels at plant and distribution centers to achieve

customer forecasted sales.

. Oversaw Six Sigma project work to reduce number of distribution centers

for product placement. This project reversed business initiative in 2004

to expand distribution network.

of product to customers. Also managed packaging crew used to package

Longview polypropylene products. Responsible for a rail fleet of over 1,000

cars. Given responsibility for $6 million annual Logistics expense budget.

. On-time shipment percentage increased from 89% in 1998 to 94% in 2004

(10,000 orders per year)

. Reduced overall finished goods inventory levels by 20% from 1998 to 2004

. Distribution costs reduced by 23% on $/lb-shipped basis
