Apr 2005 to Date SYSTEMS ENGINEER / SITE MANAGER: Masirah Island, Oman

• Responsible for managing the operational upkeep and general maintenance of two radars with PSR, SSR, V/UHF radio system, VCCS, VDR, Multiplexers, Communications, Servers and a large Military Command, Control and Reporting Centre

• Liaised with the Omani customers over present and future issues

• Ensured compliance with all HSE, QA (ISO 9001) and COSHH regulations

• Compiled and presented weekly and monthly operational and maintenance reports

• Provided training and ongoing career progression to Omani military personnel on maintenance and fault diagnosis techniques

• Ensured spares were available to support maintenance activities & ordered where appropriate

• Advised the client on future requirements and potential new system integration

• Carried out annual H&S review to check non-compliance issues were completed

• Trained all Omani technicians in H&S procedures and electrical system handling

SENIOR PRINCIPAL FIELD ENGINEER: Cowes, Isle of Wight.

• Responsible for testing & using test equipment for long range mobile radar system

• Used CTS 90 computer controlled test bench to repair units to component level

• Managed the training of engineers on PCB/SMT repair techniques

• Gathered technical information and advised engineers of project progression

• Advised on project layout and specialist tools required for the 3rd workshop

SENIOR PRINCIPAL FIELD ENGINEER: Hengelo, Holland.

• Seconded to test & aid in preparing & conducting Factory Acceptance Test procedures on long range Naval radar as part of joint venture with Italy & France

SENIOR PRINCIPAL ENGINEER: Cowes, Isle of Wight.

• Upgrade of S band (Watchman) radar system for overseas customer.

• Tasks included – modification of wiring, mechanical and electrical alterations.

PRINCIPAL FIELD ENGINEER, ON-SITE MAINTENANCE TEAM: Masirah Island, Oman

• Responsible for assisting in the running of the site, including daily maintenance of L band and S band radar systems and scheduling servicing for both radars

• Diagnosed faults & replaced faulty items & assisted client with running the site

SENIOR INSTALLATION FIELD ENGINEER: Masirah Island, Oman

• Appointed as Deputy in Charge of the installation of L band radar and integrated Command, Control and Reporting Centre system from commissioning to client handover

• Managed wiring, communication (Krone, multiplexers, V/UHF system, VCCS, fibre optic) and electrical (HV/LV) and layout out cables and routing

• Installed UNIX / Windows based computer network including all hardware and software

• Carried out commissioning instructions & specifications (OSAT) to prove system to the customer

• Managed administration duties including ATR, incident reports, amendments, progress reports and liaised with on site contractors, the client and the project engineering department
