Experience: Age 11 - Present Self-Employed New Bedford, MA / Hayward, CA

Scrimshaw Artist/Business Owner/Operator

* Started at the unusual age of 11 years old.

* In the last twenty, or so, years I have become totally Green with my work.

I use the round bones of Bos Taurus, or Bovine, which I process totally by

hand, giving it the coloration and texture of ivory. This works toward

saving animal on endangered species lists, while doing away what would

otherwise become trash.

* I still remain true to the artwork by using the single blade or needle method of

engraving, or etching, Which IS the true Scrimshaw.

* I firmly believe that to use machines for the engraving, even just the outline,

makes it an entirely different art form. And as such should not be advertised or

sold as Scrimshaw.

2002-2009 Walker's AmPm Castro Valley, CA

Cashier / Computer Support

* My duties at this position included the operating of the cash register, customer

service, prep work in the coffee area, making note of inventory needed

and filling where needed, and general stocking and re-stocking.

* During my shift I made sure that the computers are running properly, and

together with Help Desk, when necessary, I make whatever repairs or

updates which may be needed. I also run the "End of Day", which is a

complete inventory of all the day's sales, and check once again to make

sure that the system is running properly for the next day's sales.

I also run the closing of the Drop Safe, making sure that it is set for the

next day, while keeping an inventory on hand, for bookkeeping needs.

* I was also required to receive shipments, and daily I would call in both sales of

gasoline from the previous day, while setting up deliveries, and reporting the

inventory of gas in the ground. As well as monthly reports expanding on the

information provided in dailies.

1989-2002 Union Bank Oakland, CA

Verification Teller

* I began at the bank as a currier, transporting mail, cancelled checks, some

stock certificates, etc. to different departments and branches of the bank. I

was also responsible for making the exchange at the Bank of America, nightly.

At this exchange we would transfer ownership of interbank cancelled, or

processed, checks, and "Hot Checks”.

* It was with a successful work record that I transferred to Commercial Cash,

and the position of Verification Teller. In this department I managed to bring

my production level from $120 million to $400 million in verified funds per

year, while successfully transitioning through several verification systems.

* I maintained a perfect verification accuracy for over a 10 year period, while

carrying an ever increasing level of responsibility and tasks. These tasks

not only included the verification of deposits made by commercial customers

of the bank, but also the receiving of cash and check shipments from armored

carriers, making a proper inventory of said shipments, and sending out

shipments ordered by the bank's customers. As well as a daily balancing of

all of our day's activities and related paperwork.

1980-1989 Anchor Beauty Salon South Dennis, MA

* Increased sales 500% by turning a seasonal operation into a year round

operation.

* We also converted the salon from a limited to a full service salon.

* Maintained a regular schedule of training in product knowledge and

technique was also of great value to our operation.
