High Altitude Very Long Endurance Capstone Project Fall 2009

As part of a 9-member team, designed an aircraft that can loiter over a target area for up to 10 days above 60,000 ft, with a 3,000 lb payload. The request for proposal (RFP) was given to our team directly from NAVAIR. As the stability & controls design lead, I designed the empennage and control systems for the aircraft. Also, as systems team lead, I led 4 of the team members to ensure proper collaboration throughout the design process. This project consisted of a five-phase design process and was presented to an industry panel of experts.

Long Range Business Jet Detail Design/ Structural Verification Fall 2010

As part of an 8-member team, verified theoretical predictions of a preliminary design phase through wind tunnel testing, as well as structurally testing a 1:5 scale structural test article of the exposed right wing section. As fabrication lead, I ordered required materials, planned the build process, as well as led and orchestrated the build, installation, and testing of the structural test article.
