EXPERIENCE
Technical Assistant, Electrical Full Time Internship (Co-Op)
Waltham, MA
QinetiQ N.A. (Foster-Miller Inc.)
July-December 2010
• Created a Visual Instrument, using LabView, to communicate between user and robot: sent and received commands/feedback
• Performed various radio antenna communication tests, including characterization and measuring channel power output to determine whether a circular or vertical transmitting antenna was more efficient in broadcasting signals
• Measured gain (dB) of amplifiers at different frequencies (MHz), using a radio transmitter, a NiMH battery, and a spectrum analyzer
• Built audio, video, and data communication cable harnesses as well as test fixtures for testing robot
• Developed wiring documentation, a test procedure, and a more comprehensive schematic, using Visio, for the Operator Control Panel of robot
• Utilized this new documentation as a reference to build an OCP from ordered parts
• Conducted back EMF testing on lithium-ion battery pack, by using an oscilloscope and temperature sensor to acquire voltage and current traces over temperature of Transient Voltage Suppression diode
• Created a procedure and report from test results to be used for continued product support, using Word and Excel
Electrical Engineering Full Time Internship (Co-Op)
Lexington, MA
BAE Systems
July-December 2009
• Updated test procedures for an infrared camera for military use, using Visio 2007 and Microsoft Word 2007
• Troubleshot infrared cameras (Thermal Weapon Sights) in rework department that failed at test points in assembly and testing process to determine and report the corrective action
Engineering Full Time Internship (Co-Op)
Gloucester, MA
Comdel Inc.
January-June 2008
• Tested fixtures for RF power systems in the production sub-assembly department by following test procedures and edited as needed
• Converted schematics and PC Board layouts from old to new software package
• Learned how to solder and built, tested, and documented a 3, 2 way 4 KW 60 MHz combiner
