• Designed and helped coordinate the construction of Sulfur Recovery Units, Tail Gas Treating Units, Amine Absorbers, Sour Water Strippers, and Incinerators for large refineries in the United States, Columbia, and South Korea
• Made certain performance guarantees were met by ensuring quality control of process design, equipment selection, and construction
• Ensured that temperatures and pressures of streams to and from the refinery would be maintained within performance and safety limits and that lines and equipment were designed adequately
• Simulated sulfur recovery and utility processes using Aspen HYSYS and ProMax
• Developed and revised drawings including PFDs and P&IDs
• Wrote operating and startup manuals with a focus on process safety and reliability
• Generated process heat and material balances
• Evaluated line hydraulics and sized all types of equipment
• Tested upgrades to programming in proprietary sulfur recovery simulator
