? Qualcomm BREW, Windows Mobile chipset power optimization :
o Optimized battery life of QC 6k, 7k chipsets until final candidate build for customer release on BREW, Windows Mobile and Linux platform.
o Indentified and isolated RF modem, multimedia, RF air interface, protocol, memory management, clock drivers, voice quality, camera, USB and several other application related issues.
o Effectively managed issues by entering into bug tracking system with detailed and clear analysis, mobile logs and supporting hardware and software documents.
o Application testing on BREW , Windows Mobile handsets for standby (1x EVDO, GSM, UMTS mode), voice call quality, Radio Base station interface, signal strength, Transmit Power, VOIP, Data call, and multimedia audio performance including formats mp3, AAC+, H.264 , Java Applications, camcorder, GPSOne App, Bluetooth A2DP, WLAN and HSDPA, HSUPA.

o Created modified test case suite for commercial handsets - MotoQ, Blackberry, Blackberry, Palm, Pocket PC and Apple iphone. Test suite contains special tests for web based applications such as E mail, SyncML, MMI, MMS, Browser tests, Instant Messaging, Key press, OTA voice call performance etc
o Performed ATP walk after the OTA performance. Prepare close-out packages and handset specific ATP reports. Supported Acceptance Test Plans (ATP) with Qualcomm for Windows Mobile handsets.
•RF Optimization Engineer:
o Generate technical reports for different network providers (AT&T, Verizon) for RF sweep evaluation.
o Voice & Data: Test for call quality, CS PS traffic evaluation, 3G packet UL/DL speeds, IRAT handovers, soft handovers using downlink scrambling codes, RSCP for HSDPA, Rel 99 versions.
o Review link budget calculations for various configurations such as RF cable loss, connector loss to obtain desirable transmit power.

o Simulation of 16 QAM Base Band Transmission System: Implementation of matched filter at transmitter and receiver, Observe the Eye Diagram, Constellation Diagram for 16 QAM. Detailed analysis of SNR, noise, bit error rate for various digital modulation schemes.
o Modem Design: Design of complex base band modulator, channel (24 tap echo model), additive noise source and receiver with PLL, FLL and equalizer (20 tap FIR filter controlled with LMS algorithm). (QPSK and OFDM modulation technique).
Activities and Interests:
o Research Assistant for California Highway Patrol (CHP) for RADAR Lab Testing (Jan- May 2007): Calibrated RADAR antennas for their operating frequencies on Oscilloscopes. Perform Transmission Frequency stability test, Power density test, Doppler audio test, RFI test.
o Teaching Assistant for Microwave Engineering (Aug 2006 – Dec 2006): Guided students in testing and design for lab assignments using Network Analyzer, and Spectrum Analyzer. Assignments included study of Microwave devices, two port networks, and evaluation of scattering parameters, Impedance matching and tuning using smith charts, study of waveguides, couplers, noise and RF components.
