AMERICAN INSTITUTE FOR RESEARCH, Washington, DC June 2005-
Payroll Manager / Community Outreach Director
As the Sr. member of the payroll team that processed and verified all of the electronic timesheets for the
Institute. I also did the tracking of the timesheets and made sure they were all signed by the proper
approver as required for the DCAA auditors. We processed payroll for over 1100 employees multi-state and
also international employees. The duties for processing the international and domestic employees included
balancing the G/L accounts for their relocation expenses which impact their taxable and non-taxable liabilities.
I also processed the employee’s paperwork for benefits, direct deposits, 401k and other employee benefits.
Posting the journal entries, posting the timesheet corrections, and posting the project labor corrections monthly.
Providing timesheets for client audits when needed, answering employee payroll related questions. The month
end close was also my responsibility for other various payroll accounts as well. As the Community Outreach
liaison, I was able to get the company involved in doing community outreach with various schools and school
districts. Acted as an assistant to the controller for setting up meetings and special projects with other staff
members and auditor visits. Scheduled department meetings as well with staff and other directors and outside
visitors for various department meetings with finance staff or community outreach staff.

Human Resources / Compensation / Payroll Manager
As the Manager of the Payroll and Human Resources department, which processes payroll and HR for over 3800 multi-state & international employees. I advised senior mgmt. of compensation issues and merit increases. I was responsible for company wide job analysis, and lateral increases also monthly staffing plans for the company budget. I also participated in 8-10 compensation surveys per year. I participated in the salary cluster design and grading for all jobs. I oversaw a successfully conversion of the entire payroll department. I perform all HR functions including: HIPAA, FLSA, FMLA, COBRA, hiring and training of all new employees, benefits setups and changes, grade level reviews including the evaluation of salary data etc, orientations, exit interviews 401k setups, loans, matches, and experience in working with 403(b), 401 catch-up plans, 457, company paid pension plans and other changes for employees. I also handled the payments to all benefit providers. My daily duties includes, verification of all employee maintenance and to make sure that the payroll clerks have properly made data entry and filing of all information for new hires, terms, salary adjustments and all other status changes for employees. I verify all time entry prepared by the payroll clerks. I edited all errors and work with the payroll clerks on any and all errors found after I run the edits for payroll. I process all union and international payrolls and union dues for employees. Process all manual checks for the different locations; I handle all tax withholding and SUI paper work and W-2’s for all locations. I handle all employment verifications and all employee inquiries about their checks. I process all commission payments for the marketing department. Processed all stock option payments to employees. Also, worked quarterly with the auditors.

Accounts Payable / Payroll Manager / HR Manager
I managed a payroll office of four payroll clerks. I processed payable vouchers and disbursements including coding, posting, and printing reports. I verified expense reports and interacted with various department heads, to ensure accurate budget maintenance. I resolved payroll conversion for the station. Entered bi-weekly time records for management team. I verified vendor inquiries and performed high volume check run twice a month. I updated employee and benefit files, conducted orientations, medical and dental setups as well as 401k, cobra for former employees, salary and merit increases. Made changes to Personnel Manual. Transmit payroll directly to Paramount Home Office.

Human Resources / Billing Manager
Billing for all client accounts, receivable and payable, posted vouchers and crossed checks with each attorney for updates on services provided or visa approvals. Handled the collection calls to clients to help or resolve any questions. Processed all HR, i.e., benefits recruiting, compensation etc. and employee payroll, timesheets entries and printing of payroll checks twice a month. Prepared and paid federal and state taxes and monthly account reconciliations. I administered daily billing of client invoices and statements.
