Work and Lab Experience
Samsung Austin Semiconductor, Dry Etch Process Engineer, July 2008-October 2009
- Sustained daily operations in the dry etch department of a DRAM manufacturing plant. Used statistical process control tools to closely monitor over 20 different dry etch processes. Made quick, critical decisions on a daily basis to maintain both product quality and manufacturing goals.
- Automated time consuming reports by using SQL, Excel, and Minitab to retrieve and present data. Created a report to organize information for the most critical dry etch steps.
- Obtained Six Sigma greenbelt certification for the DMAIC methodology.
- Used Six Sigma techniques to better classify and identify the root cause of defects. Samsung saved ~100k/month.
University of Michigan, EECS 311 Lab Design, April 2008-July 2008
- Created new labs and improved existing labs for an analog circuits class. The class covered BJTs, FETs, single stage transistor amplifiers, and basic op-amp design.
- Designed a lab that used electromagnetic radiation from cell phones to power an LED.
- Wrote tutorials on how to use an oscilloscope and a semiconductor parameter analyzer.
- Wrote a tutorial on how to do analog circuit analysis using Cadence.
University of Michigan, Integrated Microsystems Lab, January 2008-April 2008
- Designed, fabricated, and tested a MEMS two axis accelerometer.
- Designed, fabricated, and tested controlling circuitry for the accelerometer. The circuitry included a four bit counter, a digital to analog converter, an op-amp, custom logic for the accelerometer, and a four bit register.
University of Michigan, EECS 314 Instructional Aide, September 2007-April 2008
- Introduction to circuits class. Primary focus is on linear circuit elements like resistors, capacitors, inductors, and op-amps. Filters, digital logic, diodes, and transistors are also covered.
- Taught a weekly recitation session, a biweekly lab, and held office hours.
- Worked extensively with lab equipment, including computer controlled experiments using LabVIEW.
Williams International, Electrical Engineering Intern, May 2007- August 2007
- Debugged, improved, and built a resolver demodulator circuit using digital and analog parts. The circuit is used to verify the rotational position of a generator rotor with respect to a voltage phase.
- Wrote detailed user instructions for my designs.
