Rescued Contracts with Strategic Solution. Equifax and Caterpillar reported fatal intermittent application problems, threatening their accounts with Sterling. Assessed issues on site, debugged programs and created fixes for both clients. Renewed customer confidence, helping secure annual enterprise and maintenance contracts for $500K.

Slashed Issue Counts and Resolution Time. Sterling product line experienced high levels of customer concerns and excessive time to resolve. Led teams of Level 2 and 3 support engineers to aggressively correct situation quickly. Reduced issue counts 80% and cut resolution time by a factor of 5.

Improved Product Offering with Increased Speed. CA scheduler product included “batch statistics reporting” that was too slow. Developed and implemented an automatic updating feature and improved the ISPF interface. Cut online statistics reporting time, doubling speed and allowing easier analysis of critical job scheduling events.

Enhanced Security and Reduced Firewall Maintenance. File transfer control product at Sterling Software suffered from conflicts in firewall-restricted port selection. Added both ephemeral port support and new ISPF and CICS features allowing a range of ports to be designated. Significantly improved security and cut firewall maintenance.

Developed Innovative Interface, Increasing Monitoring Capabilities. CA Technologies critical path monitoring product required new interface. Worked with Assembler and C languages, designing enhanced port detection using name-tokens to prevent TCP/IP failures. Increased availability and more efficient monitoring of critical workflows.
