• Explored possibilities for polymer surface modification using the liquid based plasma system

• Effficacies of UWP-based system shown to initiate plasma polymerization effects using the monomers such as acrylic acid was evaluated

• Worked on “Exploratory Studies in Aliphatic Polycarbonates”. (Industrial sponsored project by (GE), USA) at Polymer Chemistry Division. Studied feasibility of some of the aliphatic diols to synthesis the Aliphatic Polycarbonates by using melt-poly condensation reaction with diphenyl & dimethyl carbonate as reagents & various acidic & basic catalysts

• “New Poly Carbonate Monomers.” Industrial sponsored Project (GE), USA. The theme: Synthesis of novel aromatic PC monomers. Work involved the synthesis of Bis-Phenol-A like molecules using reaction of ketones (derived from natural resources) & phenol in acidic conditions using mercapto-propionic acid & HCL gas as catalyst.

• Worked on the project “Development of Indigenous Catalytic Converter to reduce the emission level of Four Stroke Gasoline Vehicles.” (Department of Science and Technology, India).

Instrument-Tool handling experience

• Three year experience in X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) at BAM, instrument handling and relevant interpretations

• Well versed in operating application software like Origin, CASA-XPS, Solid Edge V18

• Experience in operating instruments like Gas Chromatograph (GC), GC-Mass, FT-IR, UV- Spectrometer, Vapor Pressure Osmometer, Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC), TGA & (XRD) X–Ray Diffractometer at NCL Pune.
