Dear Sir or Madam:

Thank you for your time and efforts reviewing my resume.

My Shipboard experiences might be thought of as: working on a small city or

process plant (when Navy Fueling Ships are considered.)

My experiences on Diego Garcia were as varied as any electrical engineer could

hope for and dovetails nicely for the positions that you have open.

On the island (D.G.) 3000 mi. from anywhere and with phone calls at $4.00/min,

one had to be inventive and have a copy of the navy's Design Data Sheets (and

all other Codes that may have effective) at hand to run a twentieth century city

(3000people) in the middle of nowhere on a war footing. In my capacity as Elec.

Engr. I had to Design for: Waste Water Treatment Facilities, Water Treatment

Facilities, Well water automatic controls system, Ships, the harbor piers and

the Shipyard, the Airfield lighting and aircraft navigational aid buildings,

Fuel Depot Control and Piping System (from the airport fuel dispensing

facilities to the ship offloading facilities to the Tank Farm, Ammunition dump

and It's security systems, Fire Department buildings and island radio monitoring

equipment, Cement Manufacturing facility, Antenna Systems, Fiber Optic cable

routing, Sports field lighting, Air Conditioning systems (power and

controls)(All buildings), UPS for Mission Critical Buildings and computers,

Power Distribution system for the island(13.5KV-117V)(Everything from the Diesel

Generators and Switchgear to the lowliest receptacle), (There are many work

experiences in buildings that because of the Secret nature of the work done

inside cannot be spoken of.), Cathodic protection system for piers and Fuel

piping. Trouble Shoot various system problems and direct their repair. Exercised

my surveying talents: locate (electronically) and map underground utilities,

implement the islands first full topographic mapping, do topographic mapping for

Civil Engineers to use in the design of housing for TCNs (Third county

nationals), Teach others.
