Started as SME and migration lead during migration phase and then moved into the role of senior DBA in Oracle and MSSQL
Description
T&T:MKT stands for Transition and Transformation Migration and Knowledge Transfer and AO stands for Application Operation. This project is the extended contracts from Ericsson to IBM. IBM gained new contract for maintaining database and other software administration task. As part of transition, entire team received knowledge from HP (prior vendor). After GCD (Global Commencement Day) Dec 1 2008, entire Oracle DBA, MSSQL DBA and other team moved to support. I am part of Oracle, MSSQL DBA team. There are more than 100 servers for Oracle ruining in Solaris, HP-Unix an VMS. Current team strength is 14 for Oracle DBA, 5 for MSSQL DBA. All these different databases are used for entire Ericsson business application. Some database are used for SAP application and some used for non SAP applications.
• Was involved in migration project from Q2 2007, when migration project started in IBM. I visited customers in Sweden for migration planning. I have successfully served as SME, in Sweden. I represented IBM as SME for Oracle, MSSQL and Sybase. I chaired several technical discussions with HP and Ericsson SMEs to plan and analyze transition plan. I alone created ASMP( Application Specific Migration Plan) for Oracle, MSSQL and Sybase. I have also created template for AOD (Application Operation Document), this document is purely technical document which describes complete responsibilities for DBA team. As SME I finalized KT plan for migration and I have also estimated migration project duration.
• When T&T: MKT project started, I was solely responsible for building DBA pools for Oracle and MSSQL. I have interviewed all members in Oracle and MSSQL DBA team. I have cleared more than 20 resources for this team.

There is need to some development mainly for CONTRACT application for some modules, where functionality of these modules is database driven. In this project I had responsibility of Oracle and SQL Server DBA for US based local application for Ericsson, where I have to manage 20 Database servers. I have managed all database jobs, all process, data refreshing between different environment using export/import etc.

In this application company admin can control authorization for different users. This application receives data from different SAP based application daily. Where this application was receiving data in text flat file and VB import job imports those data into ESAD database. Same way this application sends data in text file for other application that deals with the authorization level for different users. So this application has several incoming and outgoing interfaces.

Comprehensive reports & enquires will also be available to keep track of BOM structure of finished item. “Where Used” details for components, and Audit log for all BOM operations like create/Amend/delete and for comparing the structure of 2 BOM. Description
Capital Expenditure Request (CER) is a web-based application for managing lifecycles of forms or requests generated in an organization. The CER application is built on Cognitio’s existing Document Management System that contains workflow and document management modules. This system is used for managing lifecycles of various forms or requests such as expenditure request, contracts, policies and procedures for any organization by defining workflows through which each form or request will flow before it is approved. CER accomplishes this by permitting the users to route a form or request through various users and monitor its progress. CER has a modular structure, which allows it to comprehensively meet the lifecycle needs of a document
• Developed very critical modules of this project namely workflow system. Used SGML to built functionally correct/efficient and visually excellent module of this project.
• With my previous DBA exposure I was identified to DBA to manage databases in various environments. I contributed significantly in database design for this project. This is the stage of my career where I got first exposure in database design. As designer I have designed entire database objects, took part of defining standards of database object naming. I have extensively used ER Diagram for database design.
• I was first times put into situation to recover development database, due to system crash development database lost and I restored development database from test database. I was appreciated by management for this effort. It took more 12 hours of continuous work to restore the database.
