QUALIFICATIONS
A highly motivated and result-oriented team player seeks a full-time Manufacturing Engineer position requiring passion and professional knowledge preferably in controls, product design and process management.
EDUCATION
Boston University College of Engineering Boston, MA
Master of Science in Manufacturing Engineering, May 2010
Yuan Ze University College of Engineering Taoyuan, Taiwan
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, June 2007
PROJECTS
Automated High-Precision Seeder Machine (obtained highest professor/peer evaluation)
Developed a design strategy to refine customer requirements, and generated complete 3-D CAD model for innovative detailed mechanical design. Yield and reliability gains were also anticipated.
Detailed tasks included sizing of actuations, sensors, and high-precision mechanical components.
Designed servo control strategies and selected controller hardware for optimal controllability.
Conducted financial justification and documentation.
Analysis of Energy Use in Life Sciences Engineering Building at Boston University
Developed a detailed analysis of energy use in LISE building.
Explored and evaluated the potential for energy reduction, as well as researched possible alternative practices and technologies that reduced energy use and environmental impact.
Senior design project: “A Single Channel EEG System Design and EEG Signals Analysis for Human Activities”
Designed and created a small, portable single-channel EEG system, with the expectation of conducting Fourier transform analysis on the brain signals and then applying the results in later research
RESEARCH & WORK EXPERIENCE
Fraunhofer USA Center for Manufacturing Innovation Boston, MA
Research assistant (Internship) Jan 2010- May 2010
Assisted in product development and manufacturing solutions to local and international industry.
Developed a standardized method of testing coins for wear and lifetime while correlating results with wear measurements performed on actual coins taken from circulation after extended use.
The work scope included destructive and nondestructive testing, metallurgy, analysis and correlation, protocol testing, and final report.
University System of Taiwan Center for Nano Science and Technology Hsinchu, Taiwan
Research assistant (Internship) August 2007- June 2008
Metallographic analysis—scanning electrical microscope (SEM) operation, energy dispersive X-ray (EDAX) analysis, and wavelength dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (WDS) analysis
Corrosion study—applying electrochemistry techniques to analyze and assess the corrosive resistance of metal surfaces and corrosion behavior
