Praxair July 2006- Feb 2010

Chemist/Lab Technician
• Experience in GC, HPLC, SIEMENS, HORIBA, SERVOMEX
• Experience to use (FID and TCD) in GC to analysis different kinds of gases
• Experience in HPLC (5890 and 6890 ) to analysis different kinds of gases
• Experience in CO2, CO, O2, N2, NH3, CH4, C3H8 analysis
• Use GC to analysis (CH4, C3H8) %
• Use GC to analysis (N2, Argon, CO, CO2) ppm
• Use HPLC to analysis Laser mix (CO2&N2 BAL HE)
• Use the Microsoft Excel to enter the data, calculate the result
• A- Praxair has three departments (front desk, filler, and chemists). For myself I was working as a chemist, first of all I have the orders from my manager, and I recognized according to the due date.
• B- I look to the order to know what kind of gas I have like ( pure gas, or mixed gas)
• C- I look to the customer’s requirements like (primary standards, certified standards, or gravimetric). And each category has specific chart, example if I have the primary standards below 5 ppm when I analysis that should be I have plus or minus10% to 15% from the blend tolerance, and plus or minus 1% to 2% from certification accuracy
• D- Then I look to the cylinder sample, and we have different kinds. We have Steel or Aluminum cylinder. Then from each one we have different sizes like (A3, AQ, AS)
• E- I look to the expire date on the sample to make sure is it ok? I look to the regulators because we have different types like, the flammable gas the regulator is 350, for Nitric Oxide and all Sulfur the regulator is 660.
• F- Then if I have sample like Oxygen 5% , I have different instruments to analysis that like Siemens to make sure the sample concentration matching to the customer’s requirements.
• G- Other cases I have pure Oxygen but the customer ask for some special requirements as the Methane less than 5 ppm, and Carbon Monoxide less than 10 ppm. In this case I use GC TCD to analysis Methane and Carbon Monoxide in the sample first then I running our Lab standard to calculate the Methane in our shipping simple.
• H- In another case we use HPLC to analysis the special kind of gas called Laser gas( High percentage Nitrogen, High percentage Carbon Dioxide)
• I- After I do my analysis I go to my computer to enter my data and collect some results, then I have to typing certificate for my customer and I have to sign it me and my manager.
