Major: Telecommunications and Systems (emphasis on telecommunication systems)
Thesis: Study and simulation of D8PSK optical modulation format
RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
National Technical University of Athens, Greece November 2009 to March 2010
Diploma thesis
Study of advanced modulation formats for optical networks
Design of a D8PSK transmitter which generates a Di erential 8-Phase-Shift Keyed (D8PSK)
optical signal at 160Gbit/sec.
Demultiplexing of the generated signal at a rate that equals 40Gbit/sec through a NOLM-based
D8PSK signal demultiplexer.
Design of a receiver able to demodulate this D8PSK signal without the need for a local carrier.
