Primary responsibility for a production floor which include low-tolerance CNC machining and automated/manual assembly processes in the automotive industry.
Duties include:
§ The supervision of approximately 50 union employees.
§ Responsible for the coordination of training for new and existing employees involving company safety and environmental policies, QS and ISO quality standards and specific job safety and quality requirements.
§ Designates daily manning assignments, utilizing personnel to optimize product flow and achieve or surpass desired productivity goals. Directed a 15 % improvement in efficiency performance over the last year.
§ Evaluate personnel performance using observational and statistical data. Train, counsel and/or discipline employees as necessary.
§ Act as liaison between Operations group and support staff with such issues as material availability, production scheduling, planned/unplanned maintenance machine downtime and Engineering requests for machine availability.
§ Champion/participate in continuous improvement exercises such as Kaizen events, Lean Manufacturing initiatives, 5-S and Safety Committee.
§ Record and distribute shift handoff reports documenting daily and recurring production issues via electronic media to all salary employees.
