Process Engineer

• Cost estimator for major projects from Military to Commercial. Responsible to provide quotes for CNC mill and lathe work including all cycle times, outside process services, equipment requirements including quoting machine cell cost. Review RFQ with sales and management to verify quote or no quote. Performed re-quotes by using existing cost and cycle time that was collected and recorded in a shop management system program, Vista by Epicor. Supplied information, in the form of a bill of material, to purchasing concerning materials, castings, forgings, heat treat and any outside service for pricing. Kept a file of current quotes and assisted sales with follow up of the quotations with direct contact with the supplier, when necessary. Worked to improve processes, balancing lines, doing time studies in the effort to maintain stability of the process and reduce cycle time. Worked with sales to visit customers for rush jobs. Worked with finance to review and maintain cost parameters.

• Process engineer that includes all APQP for projects that were landed. This included leading all phases of the program from cradled to grave.

• Lead supplier quality specialist responsible for all APQP and PSO for the 2006 Viper program. Conducted reviews of DVP&R, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control plans, process flow, shipping plans, layered process audits, SPC capability studies, supplier readiness evaluations, first time capability review, problem solving plans, gage R&R studies preventive maintenance plans, continuous conformance, all PSW PPAP requirements, and Powerway approvals

• Lead and completed the tool move for the 2008 8.4 Viper block, assisting with all process approvals with the new supplier and finalized the process sign off.

• Grew sales by improving work flow, purchasing new equipment; hiring new engineers, stream lining processed, and changing plant lay out to provide better cell managed areas.

• Performed process improvements through line balancing and retooling and proved out there actual benefits through time studies for high to medium volume production parts for GM and Tenneco Automotive Monroe Shock Div.

• Owner and operator of a twenty five person full service contract machine shop.

• Moved from manual machines into state of the art CNC equipment.

• Moved into a modern air conditioned facility and installed a fully integrated MRP system as well as instituting cell management and a quality system that complied with MIL-45208A.

• The company produced high precision castings, forgings, milled and turned parts for markets from aerospace to automotive.

• Processed and manufactured many casting of the 114002 series for the main gear box for the Patriot missile launcher for Lucas Aerospace of Aurora Ohio.

• Processed and engineered all tooling and programs for a forging for the F16 for National Water Lift in Kalamazoo, Mi.
