Personal Statement
I have recently graduated with an A.A.S Degree in Agricultural Geospatial Technology, from Kirkwood Community College, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I wish to pursue a career in agricultural software and currently am looking for employment. Having grown up on a large modern row crop commercial farm in Zambia, Africa, I have always been involved in the practical aspects of farming, growing Maize, Soya Beans and Wheat. A double cropping system throughout the year has given me many hours of practical experience in operating, setting and maintaining a range of farm equipment, including combines, tractors, planters, sprayers and tillage equipment. As the farm started to integrate GPS systems, the installation and setup of the technology exposed me to this developing industry. My fascination and ability with computers and technology, coupled with the practical aspects of having grown up on a farm, inspired me to seek a qualification in the technical/support side of precision farming. I am now seeking a position which will further my knowledge and experience within the industry.
