ABRIDGED WORK HISTORY

2/2009 – Current

Although hired for Java development using their Websphere infrastructure, I ended working mostly in other languages. I performed a rewrite of their Plant-Cutting system in .net/C#/VB used for garment manufacturers to cut and sew the designs. I also rewrote a calendaring system used by all Sales Reps to track their appointments and sales contacts. Some Java development was done initially to support their Portal endeavor.

7/2008 – 2/2009 ServiceMaster

I assisted in the reverse engineering and redevelopment of several system wide services. The company had acquired systems through acquisition with little or documentation. My task was to gain knowledge of these systems, document, assist in the modifications to these systems, and create test scripting for the systems.

8/2005 – 7/2008 Fedex International Marketing

I served as Lead Developer for several International pricing applications. Systems determined the Spot and Agreed Pricing and International trade routes through Fedex Gateways. Codebase consisted of Cold Fusion & C#/ASP code with SQL Server database management.

1/2005 – 8/2005 Medtronic Corporation

I served as Project Manager for a number of Intranet related systems at Medtronic Corporation. Duties included Business Analysis, Software Testing, Project Maintenance of systems that provided sales and pricing data to the field.

5/2004 – 1/2005 US Postal Service (Harris Corp)

I served as project lead at USPS while contracting through Harris Corp. for a number of Postal applications. Most involved maintenance and planning of postal databases needed for route planning and delivery. There was a strong emphasis on Java / Cold Fusion / ,NET technologies to provide browser-based utility screens needed for each Postal facility.

12/2003 – 5/2004 Cook Systems

Served as project lead for several RFID initiatives using a C#, SQLServer and XML to develop custom RFID applications using Alien TechnologyÔ RFID equipment for customers at the MED and NST Storage Products.

Through Cook I also served on the Ship&Get initiative at Fedex to produce a Kiosk-based application using Java, JSP2.0,XML, and Oracle9 PL/SQL. This kiosk application is used to reduce courier delivery time by reducing the number of delivery attempts.

2001-12/2003 Department of Defense

Project Lead for several Defense Department related projects. Developed C# and J2EE based applications to support many of the DOD systems in a Jboss / Oracle environment. Strong adherence to the RUP standard while base lining existing DOD systems for redesign.

Performed software development duties associated with the FedEx Intranet home site. Java, C, and Perl development in a wide variety of applications and internal organizations. I was one of only a few founders of the fedex.com intranet site and its accompanying systems. Most site development involved integration with LDAP and Sybase databases to maintain various intranet systems spanning functions such as internal phonebook, web hosting, sales & marketing tools, and internet commerce. CGI/Perl used during development of the FedEx Intranet site. Java, C, and PHP development were used in conjunction with many internal systems. Solaris and Linux System Administration duties for over 14+ Servers included administration of the 400+ users on our User account server, http Server setup, Operating System installation / configuration, DNS, Mail setup, etc.
