OBJECTIVE:

Self-motivated geologist/geophysicist position with expertise in explorative and developmental geological modeling, seismic interpretation, seismic attribute analysis and production enhancement. Hands-on technical professional seeking a challenging career opportunity with an E&P company as part of a multi disciplinary team charged with developing and optimizing oil & gas assets.

EXPERIENCE:

Plains Exploration (2010-present)

• Geologist/Geophysicist: Responsible for developmental drilling program of multiple fields in San Joaquin Basin. Duties include: GeoModeling of structure and stratigraphy throughout the basin, core/petrophysical analysis, well planning for steam flood project, initiating new developmental field projects, and acquisition analyses for new land purchases.

• Exploratory prospect generation, seismic interpretation (2D, 3D), -Working with newly acquired seismic data, attribute analysis and basic QC-ing. Involved in acquisition and processing parameters, identifying exploratory targets and re-evaluation of previous well data, establishing ties to seismic and wells through velocity modeling. Modeling of highly complex structures, faults, and regionally complex stratigraphy.

Austin GeoModeling (2009-2010)

• Geoscientist: In charge of technical consultant work and training of RECON software to industry users and clients. Capabilities included 2D and 3D modeling and interpretation of large data sets, rapid QC, correlation, seismic integration, reservoir characterization.

• Occidental Oil and Gas (2006 to 2009)

• Geologist/Geophysicist: 2D/3D seismic interpretation, prospect generation, data enhancement, fault interpretation, production geology, log analysis and correlation, reservoir characterization, well planning, developmental drilling, geologic modeling for San Joaquin basin and surrounding regions.

- Acquisition and processing of 3D seismic in Libya. (Dealt with very problematic environments and developed new ways to correct the effects of the varying geology).

• Devised new uphole model (for weathering zone) by mapping current velocities and re-distributing planned locations of VSPs based on velocity variance over the area saving considerable costs.

• Examined ground viscosity and stiffness measurements for additional statics corrections. Static corrections incorporated with velocity information improved the focusing of seismic time sections. This new approach can model shallow complex formations in the arid areas where classical static methods often fail.

- Field Operations: Monitored logging of wells for the entire duration of drill time for Elk Hills and adjacent fields as an onsite operations geologist. - In charge of final quality control of log data and taking pressures (SFT) .

• Responsible for daily operations report for all running rigs and well status.

- General Experience: Developed/corrected velocity models for Elk Hills unit and regional San Joaquin Basin.

- Mapped regional productive horizons across California locating areas for new structural and stratigraphic trap potential utilizing old well files, modern interpretation and modeling software, and modern logs.

-Involved in microseismic test project targeting a potential high flow 5-15' sand over poor seismic area with little well control.

-Involved in extensive horizontal drilling programs along with secondary recovery methods.

-Discovered new structures with multiple target intervals.

-Worked shallow gas zone establishing gas trap potential through structure, pressure and fault mapping.

Internship with Murphy Exploration (2005-2006)

• Working with seismic and log interpretation of 2D and 3D data in Gulf of Mexico. This work was congruent with my thesis work on subsalt architecture and trapping mechanisms.

University of New Orleans Teaching Assistant Historical Geology (2004-2005)

• Teaching assistant for undergraduate geoscience courses offered through the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of New Orleans. Responsibilities included teaching lab/discussion sections, drafting/revising/correcting assignments and examinations, leading field trips, and holding regular office hours.

Laboratory Assistant (2002-2003)

• LSU: Research under Dr. Sen Gupta of benthic foraminifera colonization in hydrocarbon seeps and the effects of seasonal oxygen depletion of forams. LSU, Geology Department.

EDUCATION:

University of New Orleans MS in Geophysics. Graduation: August 2006, GPA: 3.6

Advisor: Dr. Mostafa Sarwar

Thesis: Comprehensive, Geomorphologic Evaluation of the Gulf of Mexico, Northwest Garden Banks area and subsalt architectural influences on possible reservoir characterization from the Miocene to Pleistocene time period.
