Designed and debugged variable Bandwidth FSK / FM demodulator, multi-rate data clock recovery, multi-channel frequency synthesizer, high third order intercept 40 MHz IF amplifier and dual output Switched Mode Power supply sections of an airborne military VHF receiver for a $500K parallel development contract.

Technical lead for a team (digital engineer, mechanical engineer, electronic technicians, reliability engineer and test engineering) that completed a $600K government contract that met challenging performance and schedule requirements to design and deliver five digitally controlled 13KV, I.5 KW military airborne TWTA (Traveling Wave Tube Amplifier) prototypes.

Senior Engineer 2011 – Present

Contract engineer at Applied Pulsed Power assuming the lead in new product development and assisting in the debug and delivery of current products (HV switching systems primarily used in particle physics research systems).

Led a product development team to design and develop a power factor corrected, 4KV, series resonant converter in less than 7 months to capture a $160K market opportunity.

Design and Development Electrical Engineer I & II 2011 – 2000

Designed, selected, integrated, and developed optical-electronic, magnetic, and capacitive sensors as well as Electro-Static Voltmeters to meet customer requirements. Generated project schedules, wrote investigative reports, developed specifications, created flow diagrams for over 2000 lines of 8051 microprocessor code, converted in-house sensor designs into RoHS compliance, mentored junior engineers, and communicated with a hearing impaired engineer.

Identified commercial off the shelf TC sensor and successfully integrated into development sub- system with a cross-functional team using Design for Lean Six Sigma principles which reduced cost and field failure rate of the function by over 50%.

Technical Specialist III 2000 - 1987

Engineered and integrated low voltage and high voltage (corona plasma charging) power solutions from design to development to production [including safety agency and EME (Electro-Magnetic Emissions) compliance and advised on production line ESD compliance] on all major printer programs as a member of the Power Supply Competency Center at Xerox Corporation.

Designed, developed and patented a unique dual polarity 4 KV DC corotron shield power supply that was controlled by the xerographic system and enabled the scheduled introduction of a new technology highlight color printer to capture a $4M a year market niche.

Redesigned and patented a piezoelectric driver with a unique resonant tracking feature to achieve the advanced performance requirements of a leading edge product that opened an additional $250M per year market.
