Work experiences

2008 – Present: Post Doctoral Research Fellow. University of Toronto

Microcellular Plastics Manufacturing Laboratory, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department. Project: Thermoplastic foam extrusion Technology.

Conducted researches to study process variables ( temperature, pressure, pressure drop rate and blow agents concentration ) and additives ( talks, nanocomposites, lubricants ) effect on polycarbonate, polyolefin’s, polystyrene, thermoplastic polyurethane, polylactic acid, polyvinyl chloride traditional or microcellular foam extrusion. Maintained, set up laboratory equipments and conducted research experiments. Operated lab-scale tandem extruders (single and twine extruders), pilot-scale industrial tandem twine extruder, underwater polymer palletizer. Analyzed the results, prepared reports and participated in progress update meetings of projects.

2006 – 2008: Processing engineer, Mastercore Technology LTD, Mississauga

Project: Reinforced reaction injection molding and thermoplastic foam extrusion.

Worked in Research and Development section. Prepared manufacture instructions.

Operated pultruder for fiber reinforced polyurethane parts and Extruder for polyethylene terephalate, polystyrene foam sheet and film manufacture.Inspected final product quality specifications.

1999 – 2006: Post Doctoral Research Fellow, Academy of Science, Advanced Polymer Processing Institute, Baku. Project: Polymer rheology, thermal analysis and processing thermodynamics. Performed researches to improve macromolecules’ properties by modifying copolymers, changing chain branching, variation of molar mass of polymers. Investigated copolymers (random, graft, block) containing polyethylene oxide, polypropylene oxide, polydimethylsiloxane. Conducted various research projects on polymer blends. Determined samples miscibility, glass transition temperature, melting point.

1995 – 1999: Postgraduate Research Student for Ph.D degree, University of Baku

Chemistry Department. Project: Structural analyzes and thermodynamics of coordinate (complex) compounds. Conducted research to study chemical compound blends in solvents and analyzed creation of complex compounds in varies laboratory techniques.
