Set up and managed load and performance project for (then) the largest consumer product safety recall on record. This was the Sony battery recall for Dell Computers. Set up and managed local and off-shore team for functional testing. Executed load scenarios to identify bottlenecks and confirm infrastructure would handle extreme load. Competitor to Dell had same recall (but lower numbers) and they toppled their infrastructure and had extreme customer dissatisfaction.

Performance Test Engineer – Railroad Commission of Texas – Austin

Created performance profiles, test plans, and test scripts. Executed performance scenarios and analyzed results. Isolated defects found in Java application (WebLogic in Solaris and an Open Systems environment). Created final performance reports and provided detailed analysis. Trained and managed junior test engineers, managed test technicians in their daily testing duties. Designed, maintained and revised test cases as the product matured. Managed the implementation of automated test tools created in C, Expect/Perl/TCL, and an off the shelf product called Validor Pro. Managed and implemented Stress, Capacity, and Performance (tip over and failover) testing on multiple UNIX servers, and manual test cases run on a front-end application. Senior Test Engineer / Test Lead - iMG - Canada

April 1998 – May 1999

Designed and implemented test plans, failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA), automated and manual test cases for brand new telephony hardware and software. Assisted in design and development for IVR test brick code written in TCL / iTCL and ‘Bla Bla’ (Telephony language) in a Solaris environment. Used this test tool in a setting that had never been duplicated before where 1440 simultaneous calls were launched: 8-quad T1 boards, T1 and PRI ISDN digital lines. Managed test technicians and engineers in IVR testing and all areas of the project. Co-wrote, administered, deployed and maintained Issue Tracking Database with over 50 users.
