Career Summary

My background in quality is in aerospace, electronic and electrical hardware, medical device, and cathode ray storage tubes. I managed high profile projects for Space Station Solar Array, NEAR (Near Earth Asteroid Rendezvous), F15 Aircraft Cockpit Lighting Dimmer Switch, Medtronic Pacemaker Antenna, Intraocular lenses, fan frame casting for GE Engine, 737 Passenger Service Unit, and Night Sun Searchlight.

While working on these key projects I was able to advance in knowledge of quality methods such as GD&T, vision inspection, and initiatives such as Root Cause Corrective Action, SPC, Six Sigma Quality, DOE, Lean Mfg, ISO 9001 Quality Management System, AS9100, and NADCAP.

PECO, INC Portland, OR Quality Engineer (Sep . 2008 – May . 2009)

•Completed 737 Passenger Service Unit qualification test plan in a record five months and qualified two outside test facilities to Boeing standards including reliability testing. Initiated over ten root-cause corrective actions for fuel access door product. Issued multiple root cause corrective action initiatives with follow-up with suppliers to of aerospace products. Perform first article inspection on Raytheon precision product.

BRIGHT WOOD Corp, Madras, OR Quality Analyst ( Nov . 2003 – May . 2008)

•Developed, implemented, serviced corporate-wide quality database for fifteen (15) plants for quality audit data. Created highly visual charts to show trends and summaries of quality data. Performed first articles for Andersen Windows for new products and modified products. Maintained the Andersen Windows spec book for all Andersen Windows product made by Bright Wood. Led several lean manufacturing improvement projects.

•Performed aggregate testing and round robin testing with ODOT to their specifications. Maintained Excel spreadsheets and statistical data on test data.

•Supervised fifteen (15) people: quality inspection, receiving inspection, quality engineering, quality audit, supplier quality, calibration. I was OECO ISO 9001 Management Representative. I worked with many aerospace customers such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Honeywell, Hughes, Bombardier, Department of Defense, and many airlines. Conducted many root cause corrective actions on customer returned product including a F15 dimmer switch which caused smoke in the cockpit. Improved supplier quality by 50% through supplier involvement and request for corrective action. Review drawings, perform MRB review, and participate in design of new products.

Mitsubishi Silicon America Salem, OR Quality Engineer ( Jun . 1997 – May . 1998)

• Performed ISO 9001 audits, process audits, troubleshoot process problems with silicon wafer manufacturing, perform product holds, MRB review, Identified a root cause of silicon wafer cleaning that caused a large customer return of over a thousand wafers as insufficient flow of HCL solution into a final cleaning bath.

•Created a process auditing system for Spectrolab to prevent inconsistencies in solar cell manufacturing. I aided process engineering in speeding up controlled changes in the process with an innovative document control procedure. I interacted with FAA in regulatory issues for Spectrolab in manufacture of Night Sun Searchlight product.

Ioptex, Inc. Irwindale, CA Quality Engineer ( Jul. 1990 – May . 1992)

• Improvement of intraocular lens Inspection by through capability study. Performed statistical study to prove lenses manufactured at Irwindale location were equal to prior manufacturing location. Developed incoming material specifications to ISO 9001 compliance. Read FDA circulars and participated in regulatory affairs duties for six months.
