12/09-present Clinical Operations Manager- Ambulatory Services, Seattle

Children's Hospital

Daily operations of Otolaryngology, Craniofacial, Plastics, Neurosurgery,

and Vascular Anomalies clinics. Manage staff, space allocation, provider

relations, customer service, clinic flow, and interface with Scheduling &

Reception Centers, radiology, surgical unit, OR, ED, and other

interdisciplinary services. Provide direct supervision of RNs and other

assigned staff, addressing training, and performance issues, resolving

conflicts, problem-solving parent and other staff complaints/issues, and

maintaining staffing schedules. Participate in leaderhship and strategic

planning, including development and allocation of various budgets for all

services.

05/08-9/09 Manager, Surgical Services (Pre-op, OR, PACU), Swedish Medical

Center

Same as below. Upon my arrival, I have opened a new procedure room for

pediatric sedation endoscopy, incorporating all elements of opening a new

service. Manager of the Operating Room (11 rooms), PACU (phase I

recovery), and pre-op/transfer area. Manage total of 80 employees.

09/05-05/08 Manager of Surgical Services at Group Health Cooperative.

Establish a competent, ethical, safe and legal environment in Surgical

Services to promote high quality patient care. Coordinate Surgical

Services with physicians, clinics and other hospital departments. Make

decisions to meet service quality, utilization of resources and fiscal

outcomes. Supervise and support in administration of Surgical Services,

and oversee departments when the manager is absent. Develop, implement and

enforce departmental policies and procedures. Assure compliance with all

Regulatory Agency Standards. Research and resolve consumer and systems

issues. Monitor, track and resolve accident/incident reports. In

addition, I have been involved in the implementation and go-live portions

of PICIS for Surgical Services. This implantation involved training RNs

with charting, identifying issues and discrepancies in the program as well

as participating in the upgrade of new versions of the system. Manage total

of 40 employees. Lead on a multi million dollar project of building a

brand new state of the art outpatient surgery center, including

architectural design, booms and integrated equipment for each room, etc...

Acted as a consulting nurse in matters of writing policy, procedure, and

served as a researcher of medical/nursing information for the director.

08/02-06/05 Registered Nurse, Children's Hospital, Operating Room

Circulate in the operating room through various surgical cases, from

general surgery to plastic. Held a position as a charge of service in

otolaryngology, duties included ordering equipment and instruments,

maintaining an efficient and organized work environment for surgeons and co-

workers.

06/01-06/02 Nurse Technician, Veteran's Affair Hospital, Surgical Unit.

Duties consisted of working competently with other members of the health

care team in providing maximum care for patients. Distributed medications

to appropriate individuals under our care. Also, maintained responsibility

07/01-10/01 Nurse Technician, Veteran's Affair Hospital, Operating Room.

Practiced the duties and roles of a circulating nurse and a scrub nurse

under the supervision of a preceptor. Scrubbed in on numerous cases,

ranging from orthopedic to open heart surgeries, and became familiar with

the surgical instruments. Prepared the designated room for upcoming cases,

interviewed the patient, and collaborated with the anesthesiologist and

surgeons while best accommodating the patient in preparation for surgery.
