INDUSTRY EXPOSURE

The continuous learning attitude motivated me to gain exposure & experience in the industry along with the studies.

1. Pursued an Internship as a Molecular Design Intern at Targacept Inc (Winston Salem, NC).

Gained Knowledge and familiarity with the drug discovery life cycle and the on-hand translation of in-vitro/ in-vivo compounds. Benefited from learning about the various proprietary and commercially available packages for Molecular design. Developed and proposed two new descriptors which could be used by medicinal chemists for filtering compounds based on these descriptors.

2. Worked with Pharmalink (a company engaged into manufacturing of filled gelatin capsules) and Nicol Laboratories (a company manufacturing oral solid dosage drugs) as a Trainee.

Gained exposure to Capsule Die filling process & packaging of the product.

Gained good knowledge of Granulation, Compression, Coating & Packaging processes.

Also worked with Chemical companies like Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers, Transpek Silox, Indian Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd. & gained exposure to manufacturing processes of various chemicals & equipments used.

EXTRACURRICULAR

• Conferred Hall Of Fame Award for being the Best All Round Student in the 2010 batch of Thadomal Shahani Engineering College.

• Headed one activity at Chemergence (College Annual Congregation of Chemical

Engineering Students) in 2009.

• Selected as Member of Sigma Xi ( Chemical Engineering Honour Society)
