Project Name: Cellular based switching on/off of electrical appliances.
Type of Project: Electrical and Electronics.
Project Description: The relay circuit in the kit board is controlled by the mobile phone of the user that makes a call to any mobile phone attached to the kit. In the course of the call, if any button is pressed, a tone corresponding to the button is heard at the other end of the call. This tone is called DTMF. The microcontroller circuit perceives this DTMF tone with the help of the phone stacked in the kit.
Received tone is processed by the AT-mega 16 microcontroller with the help of DTMF decoder IC HT9170. The decoder decodes the DTMF tone and sent to the microcontroller, which is programmed to take a decision for any given input and output and send it to the relay circuit in order to operate the relay and hence switch the electrical appliances on or off as per the desire of the user.
