• Fundraising – Created new and innovative fundraising initiatives, i.e. Online Fundraising, Global Diversity Fund, and Special Events, plus strategic packaging of corporate sponsorship opportunities and effective corporate and individual donor cultivation events contributed to meeting or exceeding budgeted revenue goals for six consecutive years (2004-2009) ($1,000,000-$1,842,000)

• Partnership Building – Built strong partnerships with leading Fortune 500 companies, community based organizations, law enforcement agencies and foundations to deliver programs engaging thousands of employee volunteers and securing much needed funding. Increased overall revenue as a result by 44%.

• Resource Development – Established a Major Gifts Program for SOCT. Played a key role in the revenue growth of the Law Enforcement Torch Run Program from $200,000 to $512,000 and participation growth (volunteers) from 600 to 1,000 in three short years (2004-06). Led Development Department growth increase from less than $1,000,000 to $1,800,000 in three years (2007-09).

• Entrepreneur – Led a team that successfully bid and subsequently hosted in 2009 an International 5 Day Conference designed to increase participation and funding for fundraising programs all around the world. Conference provided an additional $200,000+ for the program with future residual affects yet to be realized.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS CONNECTICUT (SOCT), Hamden, CT 2004 – 2009

Non-profit organization which provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Vice-President of Development & Corporate Relations

Promoted and tasked with creating the first Development Plan for the organization and increasing corporate and special events funding necessary to meet new growth initiatives.

• Executed leadership and outreach strategies to initiate and identify business development and new sources of revenue.

• Within six months secured new title sponsors for one new program initiative and one existing program.

• Designed and implemented a Sponsor Retention Plan, Donor Engagement Plan and sponsor packaging designed to increase current level of funding.

• Worked closely with Board and Senior Management to create a five year Strategic Plan for the organization which incorporated Development Departments’ inaugural plan.

• Worked closely with the International Office on cause marketing campaigns on an annual basis

• Worked closely with the Board, Executive Director and VP of Communications to revamp collateral marketing pieces including mission, goals, programs, and proposals to increase funding resources.

• Identified and initiated business development strategies and technology vehicles instrumental in developing corporate partnerships and volunteer incentives.

• Created an annual special event designed to augment a $1.4 million dollar major gift.

• Produced and approved proposals ($2,500-$100,000) for sponsorships, in kind gifts, financial donations and volunteers.

Director of Special Events & Statewide LETR Liaison

Committee selected to lead statewide initiatives, increase fundraising at a local and state basis and to organize special events organizationally.

• Secured $25,000 title sponsor within 6 months.

• Worked closely with sponsors and volunteers throughout all phases of strategic and tactical planning, coordination, and execution of major events to ensure superior service and cultivated relationships.
