• Responsible to analyze, troubleshoot and correct mechanical failures and inefficient operations of devices and equipment in a 1.2 million square foot manufacturing facility to include packaging and processing operations.

• Experienced troubleshooter:

o Complete knowledge and understanding of basic machine assembly, power transmission, and actuating devices used to perform the examining of parts for defects, such as breakage and excessive wear.

o Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics and related equipment in order to observe in operation and listen to their sounds in order to locate causes of trouble.

o Dismantled devices to gain proper access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools to accurately estimate time required to make temporary repairs versus permanent repairs.

o Examined form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.

o Inspected used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments.

o Adjusted functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs and straightedges.

o Conferred with operators and observed, tested and evaluated operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose cause of malfunction.

o Developed, as Lead Mechanic, a system to number and stamp line conveyor sections in order to make it easier for the end user to assemble the line. This process continues to be used in the removal of subsequent lines.

o In addition to successfully filling the roles of machinist, HVAC Tech, and Pipefitter when needed the most difficult tasks of current trade was assigned on a routine basis. As an example the successful installation and aligning of a gear box on a M3 cooling tower was completed.

• Proficient in welding, tig and arc, burning and brazing

• Fabricate, assemble and fit all parts from sketches, blueprints or verbal instructions

o Set up and operated lathe, drill press, grinder and other metalworking tools

• Experienced with Computerized Maintenance Management System (PMC 2000) – Initiate purchase order for necessary parts, charge time and material to work orders and preventive maintenance tracking
